DOLCE & GABBANA Boutique Venice

Friul Mosaic has been chosen to realize the mosaics of the Dolce&Gabbana store in Venice, located inside the historic and prestigious Palazzo Torres a few steps away from Saint Marc Square, which has been restored to its former glory by the two international designers. The boutique has been designed to celebrate the city that represents culture, history, beauty and uniqueness. It is distributed over 800 square meters on two stories. The project was conceived by the American architect Eric Carlson for Carbonale Firm, in compliance with the original environments with frescoes enlightened by Murano chandeliers, precious damask silk tapestries, ancient panels and baroque mirrors.

Friul Mosic focused on the mosaic covering of 350 square meters of the first floor.  We used marble tesserae of various colors matching the dominant tones of each department of the store. One of the walls has been covered with glass tesserae with 24-carat gold leaf as to create a fan. The jewelry department with its walls reminding the starred sky of the Saint Marc Basilica is particularly impressive. It took three months of intense work for the Friul Mosaic’s experts to design, realize and install the remarkable mosaic coverings.
