The Value of Collaboration

Showroom Milano Via Giovenale 7/03 20136 Milan, Italy

12 November 2026 | 6.00 PM - 8.00 PM

Integrating mosaic into an architectural project requires an understanding not only of its expressive potential, but also of the technical parameters that shape its feasibility, quality and performance. From material selection and production methods to construction detailing and on-site installation, each stage calls for specialist knowledge and close collaboration between architect and mosaic artist.

The event will guide participants through the development of a mosaic project, examining the technical and operational considerations involved in translating a design concept into a finished installation. Through practical examples, case studies and insights from Friul Mosaic’s international projects, the discussion will address complex surfaces, functional requirements and aesthetic objectives, offering a comprehensive view of the process from initial design development through to final installation.

Particular emphasis will be placed on the dialogue between architect and mosaic artist, and on the value of collaboration from the earliest stages of a project. By bringing together design intent, material knowledge and artisanal expertise, this exchange can inform bespoke solutions, resolve technical challenges and allow mosaic to become an integral part of the architectural concept—combining material expression, precision craftsmanship and technical performance.
