Mosaic Artistic Talk – Marmomac 2026

Marmomac is the leading international event dedicated to natural stone and one of the most authoritative platforms for dialogue among architects, designers, companies and industry professionals. More than a trade fair, it is a place where material research, craftsmanship and innovation come together to explore the evolution of contemporary architecture and the role of materiality in shaping space.

Friul Mosaic will present Mosaic Artistic Talk, a speech exploring a new interpretation of mosaic within the design process. Through a conversation with Barbara and Tiziana Bertoia, the company’s CEO and COO, the event will examine a vision that moves beyond mosaic as a purely decorative surface, presenting it instead as an architectural language capable of interacting with light, material and space from the earliest stages of the creative process. 

The talk will consider the role of traditional craftsmanship within contemporary architecture, addressing themes such as surface design, the relationship between mosaic and light, technical innovation and collaboration with international architecture and design practices. Through selected case studies and project insights, Friul Mosaic will share its approach to material, process and bespoke fabrication, positioning mosaic as a versatile medium for creating distinctive contemporary environments with lasting architectural value.
