ITALIAN MOSAIC ART HERITAGE SINCE 1987

Friul Mosaic was founded in 1987 in San Martino al Tagliamentoby master mosaicist William Bertoia. Supported by two partners and a team of skilled artisans, the company began its activity in the creation of bespoke mosaics. Among the first collaborators was Natalina Querin, who today leads the artistic workshop. The company is now guided by Barbara and Tiziana Bertoia, daughters of founder William Bertoia, together with Nicola Avoledo, continuing the founder’s vision through a balance of tradition and contemporary practice. Friul Mosaic operates with a team of over 30 artisans trained at the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli in Spilimbergo.

SHAPING STORIES IN MOSAIC

Each Friul Mosaic project is developed as a bespoke composition designed to enhance architectural space. Every mosaic results from the integration of design, material selection, and technical execution. In the Friul Mosaic atelier, artisans translate design concepts into built surfaces, combining aesthetic, functional, and cultural value.

A TAILORED MOSAIC WORKSHOP

Friul Mosaic mosaics are developed in the company’s atelier, where marble, stone, and Venetian enamels are shaped by hand using traditional tools. Each piece reflects a balance between material, technique, and craftsmanship, resulting in surfaces designed for long-term architectural integration.

INFINITE COLORS FOR INFINITE STORIES

Personalization guides every Friul Mosaic creation, from the choice of materials and color palette to scale and technique. Handcrafted tessera by tessera with precision, the mosaics combine Venetian enamels, glass, and natural stone-materials that offer brilliance, depth, and authenticity. Used individually or in harmony, they allow tailored compositions, supported by the mosaicists’ color consultancy to ensure coherence and architectural enhancement.
